I fear I may be doing this whole meme terribly wrong.
But yes, having to put a beloved pet down, even when it’s the right thing to do, sucks big time.
I’m 17. My cat Bear just suffered a congestive heart failure death. My hamster is clinging to life, gasping for breath. My 17-year-old mind doesn’t want her to suffer like my cat did so I end her life intentionally to end her misery. I didn’t have a vet do it… I had worked at the vet’s the summer before and had been told the best ways to take a life “in a pinch”. So I did it. There’s a very big difference between having a pet put down and killing your hamster you acronymly named after all your best friends.

Eh, you didn’t know. I mentioned it once in a video a long time ago that I don’t think is even still online.
I still remember that. It was heartbreaking all the way around.
Awwww. Still – suffering is not a way to go, so I’d probably have done the same thing.
It’s such a hard choice. We’ve done that with injured animals on our property, but haven’t had to with a pet. I’m so sorry. Even when it seems like the more loving thing to do, doing it yourself is really, really hard. You were very brave so young.
It is a hard, awful decision to make, and I’m sorry you had to go through it. I’ve done it twice now, and it sucks everytime!!
